#What I Wore

Hello, Everyone! I hope you all have been following along on Instagram, because this month I am co-hosting my second “style challenge” where every week if you use the hashtag #fashionmindsthinkalike while posting an “outfit of the day” pic of yourself following the weekly prompt, you can be in the running to win some fabulous hand-crafted jewelry from Charmed Stacks and Neon Amber Jewels.

I am looking forward to seeing the way you clever fashionistas (and fashionistos…?) put together some authentic looks based on the four prompts: Statement Pieces (Week 1), Summer Staples (Week 2), Bold Prints (Week 3), and Fringes & Tassels (Week 4).

As for my “Week in Style,” I have been trying to keep my look as light and airy as possible, to go along with the hot and humid weather (not that I am at all complaining!). This week was definitely about the nostalgic romper, that I was joking around about on Instagram the other day, saying that whenever I throw one on, I feel as though I am five years old again, adorning pigtails, and those plastic jelly shoes that I owned in just about every color!

So here they are, my looks of the week, all linked (or similar styles) for your shopping convenience!

Look #1: The nostalgic romper to celebrate the classic Americana holiday…

Navy blue romper patterned with small colored flowers purchased from The Lauren Conrad Collection for Kohl’s last year on sale for around $20 (Retails for around $60)…linked is their current “Button-Front Twill Romper” (retailing for $60, and currently on sale for $45). However, I have a few rompers that I purchased from Target last year and this current season, with great patterns and styles for a cheaper price (linked).

GAP Factory, strappy, tan leather sandals purchased on sale last year for around $10. No longer for sale, but their current sandal collection is linked and are also on sale)

Look #2: Back to Boho…

Women’s Lace Up Baby Doll Top retailing for $16.99 at Target

Women’s Rockstar Jeans purchased  at Old Navy for $34.94, and are currently on sale for $28. Not only were they affordable, they were soft, comfortable and the fabric had the perfect stretch without loosening up as the day goes on (one of my biggest pet peeves)

Women’s Tracey Quarter Strap Sandals purchased for $32.99 recently at  Target and currently on sale for under $25!

Look #3: When the weather calls for sunny and 85…that means your classroom calls for t-shirt dresses and fans…lots of fans…

GAP Factory Easy Tee Dress purchased last month for the current sale price of $13.99. I have always been on the fence about “Tee” Dresses, because of the fit…but I loved the weathered, drapey look of this (and it’s a plus that it does not hang on to every curve of your body!). I linked the current line of tees that they have online. However, this olive green one was purchased in the store.

GAP Factory, strappy, tan leather sandals purchased on sale last year for around $10. No longer for sale, but their current sandal collection is linked and are also on sale)

I purchased this handbag from Target a few years back, and every summer it becomes a staple! I love the soft texture, bright colors, and the fact that although it appears bulky, it holds just about anything, from my daily products, school planner, my kids toys and snacks…and never once lost its durability! And because it was only around $25…I’m willing to say that this year’s totes by Mossimo will not disappoint! Linked are this season’s variety…from backpacks to wristlets!

Look #4: The closest I will ever get to P.J.s at work…

Black Sports Tank Top purchased for around $10 last year at H&M…linked is their current racer back tank line for $12.99

Women’s Palazzo Pants from Target-retails for $19.99

Black flip-flops are from last summer’s Lauren Conrad Collection at Kohl’s, purchased on sale for $10 (current seasonal styles are linked and are on sale for $12.99)

Grained Imitation Black Leather Handbag purchased from H&M for $39.99

Look #5: Flowy and fun…

Purchased this GAP Factory print cami dress for 50% off a few months back. It retails for $59.99 but is currently on sale for $28.97

Women’s Tracey Quarter Strap Sandals purchased for $32.99 recently at  Target and currently on sale for under $25!

Look #6: Oh hey, romper (and hello to my favorite little photo bombers)…that’s two in a week, because I just can’t get enough!

This romper was purchased for around $25 last summer from Target-linked is this year’s current selection

LC Lauren Conrad Women’s Flip-Flops in “Gold” purchased on sale at Kohl’s for $9.99 (plus an additional 20% with a store coupon). Retails for $19.99.

I hope you enjoyed some of these styles, and even use them as some inspiration as you reinvent your looks for this month of style challenges!

Have a wonderful week! I can’t wait to see what looks some of you come up with !

X, Danielle
