#What I Wore

Hello, Everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start! This week was difficult trying to figure out how I was going to balance the warm sunshine with the cold wind. So I tried my best to be as creative as I could with what patience I have left with my winter wardrobe, by incorporating dresses, some light-weight pants, and a light tee or two in order to get me over the hump of what I feel is finally going to (knock on wood) our last finicky week of winter weather.

Because I am growing bored of the same old layers, upon layers, heavy sweaters and dark colors, I did make a few purchases to help lighten up not only the fabric, but my mood!

And as always, all looks or similar are linked for your purchasing convenience!

Look #1: Light denim joggers to bring on spring, but not soon enough because I still had to style it with a fitted turtleneck!

five

Navy blue fitted turtleneck with gold buttoned sleeves purchased from H&M‘s post-holiday sale for $24.99-I could not find it on their site, but not everything in stores always ends up on their store site, so I linked their turtleneck collection.

Old Navy Cropped Linen-Blend “Drapey” Pants in Indigo, purchased last week for 30% off of their retail price of $32.99 (Currently on sale this week for $12!!) I had many requests about these pants, so now is the time to grab them before they’re all sold out for spring!

Women’s Jennifer Pumps in Tan, purchased on clearance for $15 from Target (usually retails for $29.99)

Look #2: This outfit was actually inspired by my 3-year-old, that “insisted” I dressed like her favorite Disney character (any guesses as to who it was? And don’t cheat by looking in the background!)

four

Faded Glory Women’s  Woven Tank retails for $4.97 at Walmart. I fell in love with this silky-textured tank, that I purchased another one with a different print

GAP Navy blue wool blazer purchased for around $7 last year at my local Salvation Army..I actually think it was a boys’ blazer…but if the shoe fits…(linked is GAP Factory’s current navy blazer, in stock, and in a more suitable fabric for this season, on sale for $37.99)

Gap Factory Boyfriend Jeans for around $30 on sale (shop similar style here)

Women’s Lainee Pumps in “Leopard”-purchased from Target for $29.99

Look #3: I wanted to have a minimal look, as I had to attend a memorial service for a beloved colleague that passed away over the weekend, so a nice shift dress, some pearls and heels were the appropriate attire for this event.

three

Cobalt Blue Pleated Shift Dress from J Crew Factory: Purchased on sale for around $40

Women’s Jennifer Pumps in Tan, purchased on clearance for $15 from Target (usually retails for $29.99)

Look #4: I can never go long without a black and white look, so this week I styled this skirt that I haven’t worn in awhile with a graphic tee (a little professional mixed with a casual, always makes for a comfortable, yet chic look) P.S. The shirt says “kiss” in about 7 different languages

two

J.Crew Factory “Kiss” tee, purchased a few seasons back on sale for around $16…this print is no longer for sale, but their current collection, currently on sale for $27.50-29.50 is linked)

GAP Factory-Pencil Skirt (retails for $39.99, purchased on sale last fall for 50% off plus an additional 15% from a coupon code on my last receipt)

Jessica Simpson white pumps purchased this week for $35.99 at my local Marshall’s. I swear by these shoes! I’ve never owned a pair by her brand, but they had the perfect length on the heel and I had no problems “running” around in these the first day I broke them in. Because I did purchase these at a discount store, meaning that there are no guarantees on the products they receive, I had to link her site with this season’s shoes (there are similar white pumps listed).

Grained Imitation Black Leather Handbag purchased from H&M for $39.99

Look #5: The temps were going to hit the 60’s, so I dressed as if I just stepped out of the 60’s! I don’t know what it is about the warmer months, but they always bring out the “Bohemian” inspiration…and I can’t help but love it!

one

This Embroidered Split-Neck Top, received many compliments, and it’s on sale this week for $16.99! This billowy white tee (also sold in three other colors) was a recent purchase that I was able to grab for $13.99 from GAP Factory (retails for $24.99)

Women’s Rockstar Jeans also purchased last weekend at Old Navy for $34.94, and currently on sale for $20. Not only were they affordable, they were soft, comfortable and the fabric had the perfect stretch without loosening up as the day goes on (one of my biggest pet peeves)

Jessica Simpson white pumps purchased this week for $35.99 at my local Marshall’s. I swear by these shoes! I’ve never owned a pair by her brand, but they had the perfect length on the heel and I had no problems “running” around in these the first day I broke them in. I usually don’t tag my jewelry (why I don’t know…), but I have to tell you about my recent love for Walmart’s Women’s accessories line! I am addicted to these tassel necklaces for $5 a pop, and I’ve purchased two, and plan on buying more to mix and match them for fun spring and summer looks!
