What I Wore (Week #14)

Merry Christmas, Everyone! Just a few days left until Santa comes sliding down that chimney, and I don’t know about you, but at this point, I’m feeling more overwhelmed about everything that still needs to be done, rather than enjoying the true meaning of the holiday season. However, this weekend, I was able to take some time out from the all of the hustle and bustle that comes along with Christmas, and spend some quality time with my family, getting into the traditional holiday spirit.

With that being said, this past week, my outfits have also been coordinated with the season, as I followed along a teacher from Ohio on Instagram, that decided to turn this past week into an installment entitled “Festive Fashionistas,” where each day was designated a particular theme to add some holiday spirit to our work attire (leave it up to teachers to come up with something such as this!).

Take a look at how I tried to coordinate each theme into my daily wardrobe.

Each look, or similar, are linked for your convenience!

I feel like this outfit could be an advertisement for Target…see why

Grey, graphic tee, recently purchased on clearance for $3 at Target. Many were in stock in the clearance section, but the price I linked only reflects its current retail price of $12.99…my advice would be to browse the clearance section, as the store may not have updated their system with this recent drop in price.

Black Blazer purchased last year from Target for $27.99 and currently on sale for $19.58

Camoflage jeggings purchased last year, from Target for $27.99-no longer retailed, but I linked their leggings instead.

Thick, Brown Leather Belt (Purchased on sale at the GAP for $10 over 10 years ago…see why staples are important??!)

Women’s Jennifer Pumps in Tan, purchased last week on clearance for $15 from Target (usually retails for $29.99)

Look #3: “Winter White”

FullSizeRender (2)

Red, White and Blue Flannel Shirt purchased from H&M for 24.99

Faux Fur Vest purchased last winter at Target for $34.99. Although the exact style is no longer sold, they sell multiple ones with the similar look (linked), for the same price.

Ivory Wool Mini Skirt from J. Crew, but purchased pre-owned for $5 at my local Salvation Army. A  piece of advice: don’t let the idea of “pre-owned” scare you. Some of my favorite pieces are pre-owned. As long as they are in new or like new condition, I am sold! Not to mention, if you’re willing to buy pre-owned anything, but always feel that you’re never lucky, you have to go on a day when you can give yourself time to really dig through the racks. They say patience is a virtue, and patience paid off for me when I found this treasure!

Ivory Wool Leg Warmers by Abercrombie & Fitch: purchased, from the app Poshmark (pre-loved)for $10 a few years back

“Bear Paw” Brown Cowboy Boot purchased from The Shoe Dept a few years back for around $90 (boots are no longer available, but I linked the styles they currently sell)

Look #4: “Sparkle and Shine”

FullSizeRender (5)

Scored this vintage black and gold sequined shirt for $5 at my local Salvation Army a few month back. I had no idea where I was going to wear it, so it sat in my closet waiting for a day it would have a purpose-and it worked out well for my son’s school’s annual Christmas Concert!

Black Jeggings purchased Columbus Day Weekend at Gap Factory for 20% off (plus an additional coupon I had from shopping Labor Day Weekend) Regularly retail for $59.99. I love the fit so much, I may never take them off!!!

Women’s Jennifer Pumps in Tan, purchased last week on clearance for $15 from Target (usually retails for $29.99)

Look #5: “Festive Flannel”

Madden Girl Jackmen Women’s Booties purchased on sale for $35 a few weeks back from Kohl’s (retailed at $59.99). Better steal this week-Now you can purchase them on sale for 19.99!!!! The bonus is, they also come in ivory and red buffalo plaid

Look #6: (Additional Look)

FullSizeRender (1)

Slouchy, Weathered, White V-Neck Tee from Gap Factory a few years back for around $10 (shop similar look here)

Black and white plaid open-front cardigan purchased after Christmas on sale for around $17 at Forever 21 (this season’s patterns are linked)

Black Jeggings purchased Columbus Day Weekend at Gap Factory for 20% off (plus an additional coupon I had from shopping Labor Day Weekend) Regularly retail for $59.99. I love the fit so much, I may never take them off!!!

My steal of the week!!!! I purchased this faux fur scarf last weekend from Old Navy’s holiday sale-currently retails for $24.90, but purchased it for $8 after a 60% drop. I could not find this scarf anywhere on their site, so if you’re interested in it, I recommend stopping by one of your local store’s women’s dept…if not and you’re willing to splurge from 17-25$, Target is currently selling these in an array of colors (also linked)

Bongo, leopard print slip-on sneakers, purchased last spring from Sears on clearance for $10. Target currently sells them for $16.99 (linked)

There you have it! Another week of “What I Wore” with a touch of “Festive Fun!” Although we still have a few more work (or school) days left, before it’s time to celebrate-make sure to add a double dose of coffee to the mix, because even though the excitement of the season is just around the corner, if you’re like me…there’s still plenty to check off that list until we get there!
