Let’s face it, there’s nothing more frustrating than getting up early, to find yourself leaving your house late for work, because you’ve spent an ample amount of time standing in front of your closet thinking to yourself, “I have nothing to wear!” Below are my top 10 “go to” fashionable outfits for any female (the best part: most of these staples are probably already hanging in that closet full of “nothing to wear” pieces…)
- Black Blazer:
That staple piece that goes with ev-er-y-thing for either work or play. If you’re looking for a flirtier, and more feminine look, add a statement necklace, fitted pants and some pumps, or casually add your favorite pair of boyfriend jeans and cute sneakers!
2. Denim Skirt:
This is the first season in almost 15 years where I have purchased a denim skirt, and I absolutely love that they’re back in style! It’s a chic way to dress up your basic denim wear. If you’re looking for an effortless look, throw on a pair of slip-on sneakers, or boots and your favorite cozy knit!
3. Shift Dress:
With or without prints, this is always an easy “go to” dress that looks great on all body types. When you’re in a rush, or feel like you have nothing to wear, throwing on one of these with a blazer, cardigan, or scarf over it, or layering it with a buttoned down, or long-sleeved shirt underneath, will instantaneously complete your look!
4. White T-Shirt and Black leggings:
Seriously??!! The most simplistic, yet completely stylish look that can stand the test of time…you can never go wrong with neutrals! A plain white t-shirt (especially when you purchase them a size or two larger for that extra “slouch”) is my best friend, especially on those lazy weekends! Make it truly casual wit a cute pair of sneakers, or dress it up with a pair of pumps and layers of necklaces.
5. Fit-‘n-Flare Dress:
Having one of those “I feel fat” days? This is the dress that hides those moments when you feel unflattering in anything you step into…until you step into this-an instant boost, because it not only looks beautiful on any build, but it adds a touch of sophistication regardless the mood you’re in.
6. The Wrap Dress:
Every woman should own at least one wrap dress. It’s an easy look that easily transitions from day to night, and looks completely flattering along any waistline!
7. The Striped Shirt:
If you’ve been following along my daily looks on Instagram, you’ll notice that I often opt for stripes, especially when I layer. When all else fails, you can never go wrong with this pattern! Dress them up with a pair of form-fitting pants, or a skirt or easily transition the look over a pair of your favorite jeans. Add a blazer, chunky knit, or scarf over the shirt for additional detail and style!
8. Oversized Sweater and Skinny Jeans:
Is it just me, or does this look scream “Casual Friday”? Comfort, yet stylish for those days when the weekend can’t come soon enough! Throw on a pair of cute ballet flats or slip-on sneakers, or add more style with some booties or pumps, and end the work week on a fashionable note!
9. Cardigan Over a Dress or Skirt:
This look is perfect for anyone’s style. Add it to a dress or skirt for a casual daily look, or a pair of leggings and booties for a night out on the town. Your best bet are ones that are oversized. Top it off with a cute, thin belt to cinch at the waist, and you have yourself an effortless, chic look.
10. Black on Black on Black:
What’s more flattering and structured than a black blazer, leather jacket, fitted sweater, or t-shirt over black leggings and your favorite black pair of booties or pumps? Add a blanket scarf, some jewels, beach-wavy hair and dark nails, and you’ll easily look like a million bucks.
